Jay is a freelance guitar player based in Vancouver, BC. He grew up on the prairies of Canada listening to good old-fashioned rock and roll and favored playing the drums but eventually came to his senses. He then received a musical wake up from Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton and shortly after, discovered a guitar player named Albert Lee who changed everything.

In 1991, Jay started touring with country recording artist Patricia Conroy. Throughout the 90's, he spent time working in Nashville and gained a strong influence from the industry there. It inspired him as both a songwriter and a studio musician and played a major role in shaping his career.

After ten plus years of touring internationally with Patricia, Jay started doing more freelance and studio work. Since then, he has built a reputation as a true professional in the Canadian country music industry. Besides his continued work with Patricia, he has performed all over the world from Alaska to the Persian Gulf, for the military in Germany, Bosnia, UAE, Israel and Egypt and on live radio and television including CMT, The Nashville Network, the CBC and the CCMAs. In 2007, he was a member of the house band that performed all the music for the live, televised Canadian Country Music Awards on CBC/CMT.

Jay appears on numerous recordings by major label and independent artists and currently works both live and in the studio with many of Canada's finest country artists.
